Sergeant Bluff is a city in Woodbury County, Iowa, United States. It is part of the Sioux City, Iowa, Nebraska, & South Dakota Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 4,227 at the 2010 census.

The city is located just south of Sioux City at the edge of the Loess Hills. The Sioux City Municipal Airport (SUX) is adjacent to Sergeant Bluff, on the floodplain of the Missouri River. The city is home to a large brickmaking industry, and is near the Port Neal industrial complex. Interstate 29 cuts through the city, dividing residential and industrial areas. 

The Sergeant Bluff-Luton School District and its four schools — primary, elementary, middle, and high — serve the children of Sergeant Bluff.

​Sergeant Bluff has plenty to do in town, even though it is part of the larger Sioux City Metro.

Within the Parks & Recreation and the Sergeant Bluff Community Center, you can be a part of the active community of Sergeant Bluff.

The Sergeant Bluff Community Pool is a very popular place throughout the summer and it has a baby pool, diving board and two slides.

Sergeant Bluff is home to a large selection of locally owned businesses such as Building Blocks Preschool & Day Care, Pioneer Auto, Dairy Queen, Alicia's Taco Dome, and more.

Sergeant Bluff Schools


With a school district ranging from primary school to high school, Sergeant Bluff has it all within a concise 3 block area. 

The Sergeant Bluff-Luton Primary School has 42 staff and approximately 450 students.

As the newest school in the district, the Elementary school hosts the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. 


The Sergeant Bluff-Luton Middle School is located on Port Neal Road, just about 2 blocks from the development. The school houses the 6th, 7th and 8th grades with about 400 students currently enrolled.

The Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School is a public school located on Warrior Road right around the corner from our location. Because of a steady growth in school attendance, propositions for an addition have been brought up, but haven't been put to paper. Approximately 450+ students are currently enrolled in the high school.


Townhome Plans

Plan 1 is a two story home with basement and large two car garage with storage. Main floor features include living room with gas fireplace, dining room, half bath and kitchen with breakfast bar. Second floor features include master bedroom with two closets, attached full bathroom, two additional bedrooms each with spacious closets, a full bathroom and laundry room. The basement is unfinished, but homeowner may upgrade to a finished basement. The main and upper level square ft. measures at 1564 total and the basement measures at 624 sq. ft. Plan 1 tops out at 2188 square feet.​


Plan 5 is an open concept, ranch style home with a two car garage. Main floor features include vaulted ceilings, an open concept dining and living room, kitchen with built in nook, master suite with walkin closet, second bedroom with walk in closet, full bathroom and laundry room. The basement is unfinished, but homeowner may upgrade to a finished basement. The main floor's measurement is 1385 sq. feet and the basement measures at 1250 sq. feet. Plan 5 tops out at a measurement of 2635 sq. ft.​
